Given 1.5x + 0.1y = 6.2
3x - 0.4y = 11.2
Multiplying 2 in eqn 1
3x + 0.2y = 12.4
3x - 0.4y = 11.2
Subtracting both
we get 0.6y = 1.2 => y = 1.2/0.6 = 2
and putting y in eqn 1 we get 1.5x = 6.2 - 0.2
1.5x = 6 => x = 4 So solution of your question is x = 4 and y = 2

Hey your answer is here.
1.5x+0.1y=6.2
3x-0.4y=11.2

by elimination method
multiply by 3 in ist equation and by 1.5 in another equation.
we get

3.5x+0.3y=18.6
3.5x-0.6y=16.8
-----------------------
0.9y=1.8
y=1.8/0.9=2
Y=2

Now we can put value in another equation..so we get

1.5x+(0.1*2)=6.2
1.5x+0.2=6.2
1.5x=6.2-0.2
1.5x=6.0
x=6.0/1.5
X=4
