Therefore the required solution is x = b and y = - a

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation are

\frac{1+b}{b} x+\frac{1+a}{a} y=b-a........(1)

and \frac{x}{b} -\frac{4y}{a} = 5...........(2)

Multiplying ({1+b}) with equation  (2) - equation (1)

\frac{1+b}{b} x-\frac{4(1+b)}{a} y-\frac{1+b}{b} x-\frac{1+a}{a} y=5(1+b) -(b-a)

-\frac{4+4b+1+a}{a}y = 5+5b-b+a

-\frac{5+4b+a}{a} y=5+4b+a

⇒y= - a

putting y= - a in equation (2)

\frac{x}{b} +\frac{4a}{a} = 5

\frac{x}{b} +4=5

⇒x= b

Therefore the required solution is x = b and y = - a
