Answer: here you go...

x = 5 and y = (-2)

Step-by-step explanation:

let,

{x + y = 3   - (i)} × 3

=> 3x + 3y = 9  -(i)

4x - 3y = 26  -(ii)

add both the eq. (i) and (ii)

3x+3y = 9 -(i)

4x-3y = 26 -(ii)

_____________

7x     = 35

      x = 35/7

∴    x = 5

putting x = 5 in eq. (i)

5 + y = 3

      y = 3 - 5

∴    y = (-2)

Answer:

\huge\bf\underline{\underline{Answer}}

equation one - x + y = 3

equation two - 4x - 3y = 26

let's x = 3-y ---( i )

substituting x in equation 2

• 4x - 3y = 26

• 4 ( 3-y ) - 3y = 26

• 12 - 4y - 3y = 26

• 12 -7y = 26

• -7y = 26-12

• -7y = 14

• y = \frac{14}{-7}

• y = -2 ----( ii )

now substituting the value of y in equation

• x = 3 - y

• x = 3 -( -2)

• x = 3 + 2

• x = 5

thus , the value of x and y is 5 and -2
