Given:-

  • 2x + 3y = 11 , 2x - 4y = -24.

To Find:-

  • The Value of x and y

How To Solve?

  • We will find any relation between x and y from the one of the above equation.

  • After find the relation between x and y we will put the value if x or y in any one of the equation.

In eq.1

\implies\rm{ 2x + 3y = 11}

\implies\rm{ 2x = 11 - 3y}........2

Here, We found relationship between x and y.

In eq.3

\implies\rm{ 2x - 4y = -24}

Putting the Value of 2x in eq.3 from eq.2

\implies\rm{ 11 - 3y - 4y = -24}

\implies\rm{ -7y = -24 - 11}

\implies\rm{ -7y = -35}

\implies\rm{ y = \dfrac{-35}{-7}}

\implies\rm{ y = 5}.

Now, We find the value of y , so we will find the value of x by putting the value of y in any one of the given equation.

putting the value of y eq .1

\implies\rm{ 2x + 3y = 11}

\implies\rm{ 2x + 15 = 11}

\implies\rm{ 2x = -4}

\implies\rm{ x = \dfrac{-4}{2}}

\implies\rm{ x = -2}

Hence, The Value of y and x is 5 and -2 respectively.

x= -2,y= 5

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+3y=11........(i)

2x-4y=-24.....(ii)

from(i)

2x+3y=11

2x=11-3y

x=11-3y/2

substituting in(ii)

2x-4y=-24

2x(11-3y/2)-4y

11-3y-4y=-24

11-7y=-24

-7y=-24-11

-7y=-35

y=-35/-7

y=5

putting y=5 in(i)

2x+3y=11

2x+3(5)=11

2x+15=11

2x=11-15

2x=-4

x=-4/2

x=-2
