  • Solve the following pair of linear equation.

\star\:\:\:\bf\large\underline\blue{Solution:-}

Given,

2x + 3y = 12 \: ...(i)

 - x + 2y = 1 \: ...(ii)

Multiplying equation (ii) by 2,we get,

 - 2x + 4y = 2 \: ...(iii)

Adding equation (i) and (iii),we get,

3y + 4y = 14

 \implies 7y = 14

 \implies y = 2

Now,

2x + 3y = 12

 \implies 2x + 6 = 12

 \implies x  = 3

\star\:\:\:\bf\large\underline\blue{Answer:-}

  • x = 3 \: and \: y = 2
