Answer:

Elimination method

2x-y=2

3y-4x+2=0,

2x-y=2 ×4

4x-3y=-2×2

8x-4y=8_(1)

8x-6y=-4_(2)

subtract eqn. 1 from 2

8x-6y=-4

8x-4y =8

-. +. -

-2y=-12

y=12/2

y= 6

putting the value of y in eqn. 1

8x-4y=8

8x=8+24

x= 32/8

x=4

• 2x - y = 2

• 3y - 4x + 2 = 0

________ [GIVEN EQUATIONS]

We have to find the value of a and b by using elimination method.

_____________________________

2x - y = 2 ______ (eq 1)

3y - 4x + 2 = 0

=> 3y - 4x = - 2

=> 4x - 3y = 2 _______ (eq 2)

› Multiply (eq 1) with 2 then we get..

=> 4x - 2y = 4 ______ (eq 3)

Now..

Subtract (eq 2) from (eq 3)

=> 4x - 3y - (4x - 2y) = 2 - 4

=> 4x - 3y - 4x + 2y = - 2

=> - y = - 2

=> y = 2

• Put value of y in (eq 2)

=> 4x - 3(2) = 2

=> 4x - 6 = 2

=> 4x = 8

=> x = 2

____________________________

Value of x is 2 and y is 2
