2x-y = 6 ......(1)               x-y = 4 ..........(2)

in equation (2)

x = 4 +y .....(3)

put equation 3rd in equation 1st

2(4+y)-y = 6

8+2y-y = 6

y = 6-8

y = -2

put the value of y in equation 3rd

x = 4-2

x = 2

x - y = 4

y = x - 4

Putting value of y in another equation

2x - (x - 4) = 6

2x - x + 4 = 6

x = 2

x - y = 4

2 - y = 4

y = -2
