Solve for x and y 3x + 2y =1 and 7x-y=-26

Answer:

let , 3x+2y=1 equ. (i)

or,7x-y=-26 equ. (ii)

or,multiplying equ.(2) by 2, we get

or, 14x-2y=-52 equ.(iii)

now, adding equation (i) and (iii), we get

3x+2y = 1

+ 14x -2y = -52

or, 17x = -51

or, x = -51/17

x = -3

Again, putting the value of x in equ.(i),we get

or, 3x +2y=1

or, 3×-3+2y= 1

or, -9+2y=1

or,. 2y= 1+9

or,. y= 10/2

y= 5
