Let 1/ x+y= a , 1/ x- y = b

5a + b = 2......(i)

15a - 5b = - 2.....(ii)

(5a + b = 2) 5  mutiplying eq 1 with 5

15a - 5b = - 2

25a + 5b = 10

15a +- 5b = -2

a=1/5

and b=2-1=1

with value of a and b we can find x and y

1 / x+ y= a

1/ x+ y = 1/ 5

x+y = 5.....(iii)

1/ x- y = b

1/ x- y = 1

x- y = 1.......(iv)

from iii & iv

x+y = 5

x- y = 1

x= 6

On substituting x value in eq 4

y=-1

thus x=6 and y=-1
