GIVEN EQUATIONS:

5x + 2y = 11......(1) \\ 2x + y = 13.......(2)

NOW:

2x + y = 13 \\ y = 13 - 2x......(3)

PUT THE Y VALUE IN THE EQ.1

5x + 2y = 11 \\ 5x + 2(13 - 2x) = 11 \\ 5x + 26 - 4x = 11 \\ 5x - 4x = 11 - 26 \\ x =  - 15

PUT THE X VALUE IN THE EQ.2

y = 13 - 2x \\ y = 13 - 2( - 15) \\ y = 13 + 30 \\ y = 43

VERIFICATION:

5x + 2y = 11 \\ 5( - 15) + 2(43) = 11 \\  - 75 + 86 = 11 \\ 11 = 11

2x + y = 13 \\ 2( - 15) + 43 = 13 \\  - 30 + 43 = 13 \\ 13 = 13
