solve for x and y — 5x +4/y =9 , 7x –2/y =5 , y≠0. please answer fast ​

Answer:

5x +4/y =9 --------------------1

7x –2/y =5---------------------2

multiply the first equation by 7 and the second equation by 5

35 x + 28 / y = 63

35 x -10/y = 25     subtract

-----------------------

       38 / y = 38

       38 / 38 = y

                1 = y

substitute y in equation 1

5x + 4 / 1 = 9

5x = 9 - 4

    = 5

 x = 5 / 5

    = 1

therefore x = 1 and y = 1 ( answer )
