Answer:

ax/b - by = a + b

Take LCM and multiply it on R.H.S. to remove fraction;

=> ax - b^2y = ab + b^2

=> x = (ab + b^2 + b^2y)/a ..(1)

ax - by = 2ab

Put (1):

=> a(ab + b^2 + b^2y)/a - by = 2ab

=> ab + b^2 + b^2y - by = 2ab

=> y(b^2 - b) = 2ab - ab - b^2

=> y = (ab - b^2)/(b^2 - b)

=> y = b(a - b)/b(b - 1)

=> y = (a - b)/(b - 1)

ax = ab + b^2 + b^2(a - b)/(b - 1)

=> x = b(2ab^2 - ab - b^2)/a(b - 1)

Though I've given the answer, I think there's some typing mistake in the question. Do re-check it.

Thank you!
