2x-5y+4=0 => 2x-5y =-4 ...... (1)

2x+y-8=0 =>2x+y =8 ..... (2)

Subtract equation (2) from equation (1), we get

-6y=-12

y=-12/-6

y=2

Substitute the value of y in equation (1), we get

2x-5(2)=-4

2x-10=-4

2x=-4+10

2x=6

x=6/2

x=3
