x/6+y/4=1
4x+6y=24..........(1)
3x/y-(x-y)/2=7/4
4(6x-xy+y²)=14y
12x-2xy+2y²=7y...........(2)
from 1 x=(24-6y)/4 substitute in (2)
72-18y-12+3y+2y²-7y=0
2y²-22y+60=0
y²-11y+30=0
y²-6y-5y+30=0
y(y-6)-5(y-6)=0
(y-5)(y-6)=0
then y=5
or y=6
