{\huge{\bold{\purple{\bigstar{\boxed{\boxed{\bf{Question}}}}}}}}

solve \sqrt{1+x} = 2x - 1

{\huge{\bold{\purple{\bigstar{\boxed{\boxed{\bf{Solution}}}}}}}}

\sqrt{1+x} = 2x - 1

  • squaring both the sides

(\sqrt{1+x})^2 =( 2x - 1 )^2

 1 + x = 4x^2 + 1 - 4x

 1 + x - 4x^2 - 1 + 4x = 0

 -4x^2 + 5x = 0

 5x = 4x^2

 5 = \dfrac{4x^2}{x}

 4x = 5

 x = \dfrac{5}{4}

 x = 1 \dfrac{1}{4}
