solve for x (with detailed steps)

 \frac{10}{x + y}  \:  +  \:  \frac{2}{x - y}  = 4 \\  \\   \frac{15}{x + y}   -   \frac{5}{x - y}  =  - 2

x= 15/14
y=5/7

Solving eq (1) we get
12x-8y=4(x^2-y^2)
Solving eq (2) we get
10x-20y=-2(x^2-y^2)
Now substituting the value of (x^2-y^2) from eq (1) in eq (2) we get
x=3/2y
Now putting this value of x in eq (1) we get y=5/7
Now x =3/2.5/7
=15/14
