solve for x+y , 2x-3y=9 , 3x+6y=18

2x-3y=9 ×2

4x-6y=18

3x+6y=18

adding

7x=36

x=36/7

y=72/7-3y=9

72-21y=63

-y=63-72/21

y=3/7

so x+y=36+3/7=39/7
