15- let total pages=x
one third of x= x/3
remain portion= x-x/3=2x/3
second day he reads= 2x/3 × 1/4= 2x/12= x/6
in two days he reads= x/3 + x/6= 3x/6= x/2 portion of the books i.e. half of the total pages in two days.
since 200 pages left, total pages=
x/2 +200=x
x/2-x= -200
-x/2= -200
x/2= 200
x= 200×2
x=400 is the total pages
