The solution of the equations 2x + 3y = 11 and x + 2y = 7 obtained graphically is x = 1 and y = 3.

  1. The given equations are -

2x + 3y = 11 --- (i)           and        x + 2y = 7 ---(ii)

    2. Equations (i) and (ii) are linear equations.

    3. The point where the graphs of (i) and (ii) coincide will be the solution for x and y.

    4. The graph will be as attatched.

    5. The solution is -

          x = 1

          y = 3
