we have to solve graphically ; 2x + 3y = 6 , 4x + 6y = 24

solution :

let's find points lies on line 2x + 3y = 6 :

if x = 0, y = 6/3 = 2 i.e., (0,2)

if y = 0, x = 6/2 = 3 i.e., (3,0)

if x = -3 , y = (6 + 6)/3 = 4 i.e., (-3, 4)

now plot the graph of line 2x + 3y = 6 with help of above points.

let's find points lies on line 4x + 6y = 24 :

if x = 0, y = 4 i.e., (0, 4)

if y = 0, x = 6 i.e., (6, 0)

if x = -6 , y = (24 + 24)/6 = 8 i.e., (-6, 8)

now plot the graph of 4x + 6y = 24 with help of above points.

see graph , both graph are parallel to each other. it means, there is no any solution of system of lines.

[note : here a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂ ≠ c₁/c₂ so there is no solution of system of lines ]
