Given

2x + y = 3 (i)eq

x + 3y = -1 (ii)eq

Take (i)eq

2x + y = 3

When x = 0

2(0) + y = 3

y = 3

We get point (0,3)

When y = 0

2x + 0 = 3

2x = 3

x = 3/2

We get point (3/2, 0)

Take (ii)eq

x + 3y = -1

when x = 0

0 + 3y = -1

3y = -1

y = -1/3

We get point (0,-1/3)

when y = 0

x + 3(0) = -1

x = -1

we get point (-1,0)
