1- 2x + 5 = 17
2x = 17 - 5
2x = 12
x = 12/ 2
x = 6

2- 3y - 2 = 1
3y = 1 + 2
3y = 3
y = 3 / 3
y = 1

3- 5p + 4 = 29
5p = 29 - 4

2x + 5 = 17 \\ 2x = 17 - 5 \\ 2x = 12  \\  x =  \frac{12}{2}  \\  x = 6
3y - 2 = 1 \\ 3y = 1 + 2 \\ y =  \frac{3}{3}  \\ y = 1
5p + 4 = 29 \\ 5p = 29 - 4 \\ p =  \frac{25}{5} \\ p = 5
hope this helps u
