Given ,
2x+3y=8 & xy=2.
So using identity (a+b)²=a²+b²+2ab
(2x+3y)²=(2x)²+(3y)²+2(2x)(3y)
(8)²=4x²+9y²+2*2*2*3
64=4x²+9y²+24
64-24=4x²+9y²
40=4x²+9y²

Hi !
2x + 3y = 8
xy = 2
(a+b)² = a² +2ab + b²
(2x+3y)² = (2x)² +2 × 2x × 3y + (3y)²
8²= 4x²+24 + 9y²
64 - 24 = 4x²+ 9y²
∴ 4x²+ 9y² = 40
2x + 3y = 8
xy = 2
(a+b)² = a² +2ab + b²
(2x+3y)² = (2x)² +2 × 2x × 3y + (3y)²
8²= 4x²+24 + 9y²
64 - 24 = 4x²+ 9y²
∴ 4x²+ 9y² = 40
