A 50 kg man lying on a surface of negligible friction pushes a 500 g stone away from him, giving it a
speed of 10 m/s.The velocity acquired the mass is:

(l) 1.0 m/s
(2)5.0 m/s
(3) 0.1 m/s
(4) 0.01 m/s

Since momentum is conserved ,

                                     on solving we get :

      the velocity acquired by the man to be (3)=0.1 m/s
