Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

5 + 2√3/7 + 4√3 = a + b√3

To Find -

Value of a and b

Now,

Rationalising the denominator :-

5 + 2√3/7 + 4√3 × 7 - 4√3/7 - 4√3 = a + b√3

» 35 - 20√3 + 14√3 - 24/49 - 48 = a + b√3

» 11 - 6√3/1 = a + b√3

» 11 - 6√3 = a + b√3

Now,

Comparing 11 - 63 and a + b√3, we get :

11 - 6√3 = a + b√3

a = 11 and b = -6

Hence

The value of a is 11 and b is -6
