(2x – 3)/3 – (x – 5) = x/3

= (2x – 3 – 3x + 15 = x)/3 – x + 12 = x

⇒ 12 = x + x ⇒ 2x = 12

∴ x = 12/2 = 6

{\huge{\underline{\boxed{\red{\mathcal{Answer}}}}}}

Given:

  •  \dfrac{2x - 3}{3} - (x - 5) = \dfrac{x}{3}

To Find:

  • Value of x

Solution:

 \dfrac{2x - 3}{3} - (x - 5) = \dfrac{x}{3} \\\\\implies \dfrac{2x - 3 - 3(x - 5)}{3} = \dfrac{x}{3} \\\\\implies 2x - 3 - 3x + 15 = x \:\:\:\:\:\text{(3 gets cancelled on both sides)} \\\\\implies 15 - 3 = x + 3x - 2x \\\\\implies 12 = 2x \\\\\implies x = 12/2 \\\\\bf{\implies x = 6}\\

Hope it helps!
