x= 18

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN:

\frac{3x+1}{15}+\frac{2x-3}{6}=\frac{x+1}{4} +\frac{3x-1}{12}

\frac{3x+1}{15}+\frac{2x-3}{6}=\frac{x+1}{4} +\frac{3x-1}{12}

STEP 1:

Solve \frac{3x+1}{15}+\frac{2x-3}{6}

Taking LCM for 15 and 6 is 30

Factor of 5 is 3 and 5

Factor of 6 is 3 and 2

LCM of 15 and 6 is 3×2×5 =30

==> \frac{2(3x+1)}{2(15)}+\frac{5(2x-3)}{5(6)}

==> \frac{2(3x+1)}{30}+\frac{5(2x-3)}{30}

Now the denominator is the same,

==> \frac{6x+2}{30}+\frac{10x-15}{30}

Add the numerator directly, the denominator is the same

==> \frac{6x+2+10x-15}{30}

==>\frac{16x-13}{30}

STEP 2:

Solve  \frac{x+1}{4} +\frac{3x-1}{12}

LCM of 4 and 12 is 12

Factors of 4  is 2 and 2

Factors of 12 is 2, 2 , 3

LCM of 4 and 12 is 2×2×3 = 12

Multiply 3 in the numerator and denominator,

==> \frac{3(x+1)}{3(4)} +\frac{3x-1}{12}

==> \frac{3x+3}{12} +\frac{3x-1}{12}

==>  \frac{3x+3+3x-1}{12}

==> \frac{6x+2}{12}

Equate Step 1 and Step 2

==> \frac{16x-13}{30}=  \frac{6x+2}{12}

Doing Cross multiplication on both sides,

==> 12(16x-13)=  30(6x+2)

==> 192x-156=  180x+60

==> 192x-180x= 156+60

==> 12x=  216

==> x= \frac{216}{12}

==> x= 18
