i)A scalar quantity has only magnitude, but no direction whereas vector quantity has both magnitude and direction.

ii)Every scalar quantity is one-dimensional whereas vector quantity can be one, two or three-dimensional.

iii)Scalar quantity changes with the change in their magnitude whereas vector quantity changes with the change in their direction or magnitude or both.

iv)Measurement of scalar quantity is simple whereas measurement of vector quantity is complex.

v)A car is moving at a speed of 30 Km per hour is an example of scalar quantity whereas A car is moving with a velocity of 30 Km per hour in the East is an example of vector quantity.
