Answer:

\text{Area is}\thinspace2772 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the diameter of right circular cylinder type bucket  is 21 cm and its height is 40 cm. the bucket is full of sand. If the sand is poured on the ground it forms a circular cone of height 15 cm. we have to find the area of the ground in which sand cone stands.

Diameter=21 cm

Radius=\frac{21}{2}cm

Height=40 cm

\text{Volume of cylinder=}\pi r^2h

                          =\pi\times \frac{21}{2}\times \frac{21}{2}\times 40

Now, height of cone is 15 cm

As the sand is poured on the ground it forms a circular cone.

∴Volume of cone=Volume of cylinder

\pi r^2\times\frac{h}{3}=\pi \times \frac{21}{2}\times \frac{21}{2}\times 40

r^2=21\times 14=294cm^2

\text{Area of the ground in which sand cone stands=}\pi r^2

                                                  =\frac{22}{7}\times 294=2772cm^2
