Area of the canal
=6×1.5
=9m^2
Speed of water = 10 km/h
      =10000/60 metre/minute
Volume of water flowing in 1 minute
=9×10000/60 =1500 m^3
Volume of water flew in 30 minutes
=30×1500
=45000 m^3
Let area irrigated be A. Now
    Volume of water flew in 30 minutes =volume of water needed to irrigate the field
45000= (A×8)/100
A = 562500 m^2
Area to be irrigated is 56.25 hectares.

Hope this helps!!
cheers!! (:

Solution:

_____________________________________________________________

Given:

Water in a canal is 6m wide, 1.5 m deep & fo=lowing with a speed of 10kmph,.

_____________________________________________________________

To Find:

The are irrigated by the pipe is ?,

8 cm of standing water is required for irrigation,.
_____________________________________________________________

As we know,

1 km = 1,000m,.

1 hr = 60min,.

Converting 10 kmph into mpm(meter per minute),.

=> 10 x 1,000 x  \frac{1}{60}

=>  \frac{1,000}{6}
_______________________________

Time taken = 30 min ,

So,

=>  \frac{1,000}{6} (30)

=> (1,000)(5)

=> 5,000 meter,.

The volume of water irrigated

=> 6 x 1.5 x 5,000

=> 9 x 5,000

=> 45,000 meters,.

As 8 cm of standing water is required,. (8 cm = 0.08 m),

Let the area be x meters,.

=>  ( \frac{8}{100})x = 45,000

=> x = 45,000 ( \frac{100}{8} )

=> x =  \frac{45,000(100)}{8}

=> x =  \frac{45,00,000}{8}

=> x = 5,62,500 m²

              ∴ The total area irrigated = 5,62,500 m² in 30 mins,.
