Given a conical tent with

Height ( h ) = 8m

Radius ( r ) = 6m

So its slant height⇒ √( h² + r²)
⇒ √ 64 + 36
⇒ √100
⇒ 10 m

We know that curved surface area of the cone = π* r* l
= 3.14 * 6 * 10
= 188.4 m²

Now, given that the extra length of material required for stiching margins and wastages in cutting is approx. 20 cm = 0.2m

So length = ( l - 0.2 m)

Width = 3m (given)

The area of the trapaulln = l x b = ( l - 0.2) (3)

We know that Area of sheet = CSA of tent

So ( l - 0.2) (3) = 188.4 m²
⇒ 3l - 0.6 = 188.4
⇒ l = (188.4 + 0.6) /3
⇒ l = 189 / 3
⇒ l = 63 m

Your answer = 63m
