The given question is If the mid value of the class interval and upper limit in a frequency distribution are 187.5 and 200 respectively then we have to find the value of a lower limit

It is given that the class interval is 187.5 and the upper limit in a frequency distribution is 200.

what will be the value of the lower limit?

As we know that the formula of the class interval is a division of the sum of the upper limit and the lower limit by 2.

let the value of the lower limit be x, then the value will be

 \frac{200 + x}{2}  = 187.5

The 2 dividing on the left side becomes multiplied on the right side

200 + x = 2(187.5) \\ 200 + x = 375 \\

The addition of 200 on the left side changes into subtraction on the right side.

x = 375 - 200 = 175

The value of x is 175.

Therefore, the final answer to the given question is 175.

upper limit = 200

lower limit =175

class interval = 187.5
