This is a question from linear equation in two variables.

We can solve it by three methods.

They are :-

Elimination

Substitution

Cross - multiplication.

The easiest will be cross multiplication

But, i will be solving it by both cross multiplication and substitution.

The answer is coming -

x = - \sqrt{a} \: \: and \: \: y = - \sqrt{b}x=−
