let the age of Shaily = x
let the age of Maggie = x+6

Now ,
x+x+6 = 16
2x + 6 = 16
2x = 16 - 6
2x = 10
x = 10 ÷2
x = 5 (ans)
Then , Age of Shaily = (x) 5 years old
Age of Maggie= x+6
= 5+ 6
= 11 years old (Ans)
