Maryamshifaz: is it a quadratic equation?
Maryamshifaz: like 6-x-x^2=0
ravindervirk360: like 6-x-x^2
Maryamshifaz: the question is confusing, if it is a quadratic equation, 6-x-x^2 =0 => x^2+x-6=0=>x^2+3x-2x-6=0=>. x(x+3)-2(x+3)=0. =>(x+3)(x-2)=0. =>x= -3, x= 2

Hello there!

Let the number to be subtracted be 'x'

As per the condition given, the equation will be: (-5/3) - x = (5/6)

Calculation:

(-5/3) - x = (5/6)
-x  = (5/6)-(-5/3)
-x = (5/6)+(5/3)

LCM for 6,3 is 6

-x = (5+5(2))/6
-x = (10+5)/6
-x = 15/6

both 15 and 6 are the multiples of 3 for 5 and 2

-x = 5/2
x = -5/2

Therefore, the number to be subtracted from (-5/3) to get (5/6) is (-5/2)
