put the needle of compass on B. rotate the compass making an arc such that the arc crosses the line AC at two points. now you can contract the compass. put the needle on first point of intersection and make an arc of sufficient long curve on the other side. put the needle on the other intersecting point and make an arc such that it intersects the previous arc. join B with the intersecting point of the two arcs. this joining line will be perpendicular to AC and will touch AC at some point say D.
