Distance traveled by the policeman= ut+1/2at^2
u= initial velocity = 0
a= 3
t= 12
so D = 1/2 X 3 X 144 = 216
Now Final velocity at which he is chasing constantly = 12 X 3 =36m/s
Distance traveled by the robbers = 12 X 20 = 240
Distance between both = 240 - 216 = 24m
using relative speed,
speed= 36-20 = 16m/s
Time = 24/16 = 1.5
