x+y = 5 , 2x + y =3​

x=5-y

2x+y=3

2×(5-y)+y=3

10-5y+y=3

10-4y=3

-4y=-7

y=7/4

x=5-y------------3

substituting the above equation in second

2(5-y)+y=3

10-2y+y=3

10-y=3

-y=-7

y=7

substituting y=7 in 3

x=5-3

x=2

hence, x=2 and y=7
