2 ohm and 4 ohm resistors are in series.

R = 2+4 = 6 ohms.

6 ohm and 6 ohm in parallel.

 \frac{1}{r}  =  \frac{1}{6}  +  \frac{1}{6}  \\  \frac{2}{6}  =  \frac{1}{r }  \\ r = 3

this 3 ohm and 7 ohm in series

R = 3+7 = 10 ohm

And, this 10 ohm and the 10 ohm resistor on AB is in parallel.

By solving, you get R = 5

So, finally

The effective resistance is 5 ohm.
