For the next term(nth) it is increased by n² + 1 + first term.

So the next term becomes 2 + 4 + 1 = 7( in serial )

It gets 2 + 3² + 1 = 3 + 9 = 12

S = 2 + 4² + 1 = 19, which as desired.
