Here is ur answer :

Please see the attached picture..

When the bases are same, powers must be equal.

$8x + 16 = 6x - 6$


$8x - 6x = - 6 - 16$


$2x = - 22$

$x = \frac{ - 22}{2}$


$x = - 11$
