GIVEN :

  • mass of the body = 500 g = 0.5 kg
  • time taken = 10 sec
  • Force = 1/100 N
  • initial velocity = 0 (rest )

SOLUTION:

Force is given by the formula ,

F = m \times a

a =  \frac{F}{m}

a =  \frac{0.01}{0.5}

 \boxed{a = 0.02 \frac{m}{ {s}^{2} } }

Now in order to find the distance travelled by the block use the second equation of motion

s = ut +  \frac{1a {t}^{2} }{2}

here ,

  • s = distance travelled
  • u = initial velocity
  • a = acceleration
  • t = time taken

As initial velocity of the body is 0

 s =  \frac{1a {t}^{2} }{2}

s =   \frac{0.02 \times 100}{2}

\boxed{s = 1m}
