See, the pattern is plus 3, plus 3, plus3 so 3*4=12,3*5=15,3*6=18 in the same way 3*167=501 but 3 terms are already given so the answer is 164th term

d = 15-12 = 3
if the n.is whole no. then it is the term of AP
so by
an= a+(n-1)d
501= 12+ (n-1) 3
501= 12 + 3n - 3
501-9 = 3n
3n = 492
n = 492/3
n= 1 64
so the term is 164
