The sum of the interior angles of a hexagon is 720. A regular hexagon has equal sides and angles, so angle AFE = 120º (720º/6 sides) and angle AFG = 60º (bisected means “cut in half”).

Triangle AFG is a 30:60:90 triangle. Because ABCDEF is a regular hexagon, AF = ED = 12.

FG = 6

Sum of all interior angles of hexagon = 720
So, measure of one angle = 720/6 = 120 (Since it is a regular hexagon)
So, since the angle is dicided into half, its measure(Measure of Angle AFG) = 120/2 = 60

Now, in right angled triangle AFG,
AF = 12
Angle AFG = 60*

cosAFG = cos60* = FG/AF
1/2 = FG/12
FG = 12/2 = 6 cm
