Given :

  • Length of rectangle = (x+2) cm
  • Breadth of rectangle = (x-5) cm
  • Area of rectangle = 60 cm²

To find :

Form equation

Formula used :

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

Solution :

Area = (x+2) × (x-5)

60 = x² - 5x + 2x - 10

x² - 3x - 10 - 60 = 0

- 3x - 70 = 0

ANSWER -

Option B) - 3x - 70 = 0

Additional information -

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + Breadth)
  • For p(x) = ax² + bx + c ,
  • \sf \implies \: x \: =  \dfrac{ - b \:  \pm \:  \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}
