By saying a + b + c = 0 we mean the vector sum of any two vectors is at 180° with the third vector.
To suffice the given magnitudes into the equation given, I would have to set,
b + c = -a.
You can verify this result by Triangle law of Vector addition.
For this we shall have to assume these three vectors lie on the three axes of the 3-D Cartesian plane. You may take anyone on the axes, like in any fashion. It must suffice the equation b + c = -a.
That's it! So, a = -5; b = 4 and c = 3.
The above Ted-Talk is just to explain that I had to find the signs of the Vectors, of the magnitudes given!
So, for | a.b + b.c + c.a | = | (-5)*4 + 4*3 + (-5)*3 | = |-23| = 23!
