Explanation:

The radius of the tract is 100 meter

The total circumference of a circle can be determined by the relation .:

circumference \:  = 2 \: \pi \: r

Thus the total circumference (or distance) of the tract = 2 × 3.14 × 100

= 3.14 × 200 = 628 meters

But the athelete has completed 3/4 of the total tract, Thus the distance covered by him = 628 × 3/4 = 471 meters

To find the displacement of the athelete (which is equal to the shortest distance between his initial and final point) we take help from the diagram
