Given that.....
11–5x–6x² = 0
=> –(6x²+5x–11) = 0
=> 6x²+5x–11 = 0
=> 6x²–6x+11x–11 = 0
=> 6x(x–1)+11(x–1) = 0
=> (x–1)(6x+11) = 0
when (x–1) = 0 => x=1
and when (6x+11) = 0 => x=–11/6
thus the required value of x = 1 and –11/6.
