• In the first place, that lady bought grocery worth Rs. 350 from the shopkeeper. This was a Rs. 350 loss of the shopkeeper.
• Secondly the shopkeeper gave Rs. 1650 back to that lady in exchange of a duplicate Rs. 2000 note. This was a Rs. 1650 loss of the shopkeeper.
• Another shopkeeper from whom he took Rs. 2000 change, took back Rs. 2000 from him. This was a Rs. 2000 loss of the shopkeeper because the returned duplicate Rs. 2000 note had no monetary value.

So total loss = Rs. (350 + 1650 + 2000)
