let the distance between them be x
x=90 km
let speed of A be Va and that of B be Vb
then
if they move in same direction
Va*9=x+y
Vb*9=y
subtracting the 2 equations
(Va-Vb)=x/9
=90/9
=10 km/hr
where y is the extra distance covered by B and A
also for the second case
Va*9/7=x-z
Vb*9/7=z
adding the 2 equations
(Va+Vb)=7x/9
=7*90/9
=70 km/hr
therefore
Va-Vb=10
and
Va+Vb=70
solving the 2 equations
Va=40 km/hr
and Vb=30 km/hr
(for the next question just change the time and speed variables and u will get your answer )
